Purely USB is a Wordpress theme based on the purelypens.com design. This website offers a huge range of promotional USB products as well as other printed gifts and is currently performing very well in all top search engines.
By using the Wordpress magagement system I was able to create a complete online shop with a fully updatable product list, ability to edit the product categories and an Ajax quote system for a better user experience.
Purely USB is fully optimized for Search Engines and features an in-built blog which displays a list of the most recent feeds on the homepage.
Debt.co.uk is an information and advice website for managing debt problems and was completed during my time working as a web developer for The Relax Group PLC. The clean and minimalistic approach used is to generate a sense of calm for the user and provide easy access to the information they need.
The website features a fully integrated news blogging system. This allows for the admin to enter a news article daily using the regular company intranet, which will then be displayed as a link on the homepage and as a full article in the news section.
The use of Fusion Charts and amMap allows for the use of Flash to display statistics generated from the debt database.
Once the viewer has read the information they can use the enquiry form to send their details to the database which will be handled by a member of the call centre staff.
The Feedback Wizard is a The Times Higher Education Award nominated application which uses a blend of Visual Basic and Microsoft Excel to allow assignment markers to generate consistent individual feedback documents for an entire student cohort using an assignment-specific feedback template containing a matrix of assessment criteria and feedback comments.
The final result of the Feedback Wizard is a compressed ZIP file (Containing feedback files for each student) which imports seamlessly into the Sheffield Hallam University Assignment Handler, used to manage grades and feedback online.
The technology has now been used in the assessment of 10,000 students and has attracted the interest of other universities as well as receiving high praise from the university staff who currently use the software.

The Module Planner Wizard is my second application developed for Sheffield Hallam University Staff. The planner is a more complex version of the Project Registry Document Wizard and uses Visual Basic programming language to act as a user friendly interface for data entry into a Microsoft Word document.
The planner enables the user to select from two wizards, Module Descriptor Wizard and the Session Planner Wizard, each with a specific purpose to guide the user into filling out what would usually be a cumbersome document.
The wizard has an in-built help system which is fully documented to guide the user through each input field. By using this method the user does not run the risk of entering invalid data as each field only allows the required data type (Letters, Numbers etc..).
The PRD Wizard is an application created for Sheffield Hallam University staff which handles the input of data into a Project Registry Document effortlessly. The Wizard enables the user to browse through a series of three sections, each covering the three main sections of the document.

The PRD Wizard was developed using Visual Basic and automates actions for Microsoft Word. I have also developed a Module Wizard which is a more complex interface for multiple Microsoft Word documents.
The Conference System is a bespoke PHP content management system developed for use within Sheffield Hallam University. The coding behind the system enables the files to be transferred to another server to quickly create a new conference website.
The system enables faculties to quickly and easily setup a conference website with no programming knowledge using the back-end admin panel.

The International Student Game is a Flash based e-learning experience for international students who are starting at Sheffield Hallam University.
The user receives the application as part of a ‘new student package’ when they first apply to the university.
After selecting their country of residence, character, name and colours they are shown a 3D game board which they must follow to find out information about the university lifestyle in the United Kingdom.
The game features short video clips, multiple choice questions and unforeseen circumstances that can affect their overall university experience points.
The questions, videos & content can be edited via an external XML file which keeps relevancy high and maintenance levels low.
Prime Risk Management is a construction safety solutions company who required a clean and ’solid’ looking website to match their business area.
Designed as a Wordpress theme this website is fully customizable and includes a Flickr gallery linked into the website to display previous and current examples of their work. To complete the company branding a logo and business cards were designed.
The Prime Risk Management Business Card was designed to promote the website and to provide contact details for potential customers. The clean and minimilistic approach used on the website was carried over to the card and after a number of different designs were considered the final card was decided on.
